Itinerary

Day 1Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – Ouarzazate

Our 5 Days Tour from Marrakech to Fes will start from your hotel/riad in Marrakech, and we head off over the high Atlas Mountains passing through the Tizi N’tichka pass (2260m), to visit the Kasbah of Pasha Glaoui in Telouet.  The stunning examples of Islamic architecture are a must-see. This was the home of Thami el Glaoui, the powerful warlord who once reigned in this region and was the Pacha of Marrakech. Lunch will be served in a typical restaurant. In the afternoon we will drive along the Ounila valley with its Berber villages, towards Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah the oldest Berber village and World UNESCO heritage 11th century, where many international movies shotted ( Game of throne, Gladiator… ) You will visit the Kasbah, then continue to Ouarzazate. Dinner and overnight at the hotel/riad in Ouarzazate.

Day 2Ouarzazate – Skoura – Dades Gorges

This morning after breakfast in the hotel/riad, leaving Ouarzazate towards Dades Gorge, you will find yourself along what is commonly known as the Road of One Thousand Kasbahs. You’ll catch a spectacular view of a vast valley dotted with small oases and hundreds of ancient fortifications. The sand-colored walls of the kasbahs may all start to look the same after a while, but don’t be fooled: they each hold a special historical treasure within.

Our first stop will be in Skoura. Here, in this quiet little village speckled with palm tree groves, you will find one kasbah that stands out from the rest. The Kasbah Amridil, originally built in the 17th century, is one of Morocco’s most iconic living museums.

The journey continues through the Valley of Roses where we will take our lunch, then after lunch, we will take the off-road into the mountains till we reach the area where the Berber nomad family living in caves and get to know and see their lifestyle. Then we continue to Dades valley where we will spend the night. Overnight in authentic Riad/hotel including bed, dinner, and breakfast.

Day 3Dades Gorges – Todra Gorges – Camel Trekking in Merzouga

After breakfast at your hotel in Dades Valley, our journey today will start today with a drive to the Oasis of Tinghir, where we will deviate to a minor road driving along Todra Valley till we reach Todra Gorges which are currently one of the most popular rock climbing destinations in Morocco. You may have a walk between their huge rock walls, you might even discover some rustic Berber villages where you can enjoy a cup of tea with the nomads of this region. Lunch will be served along the way. After, we will continue to Merzouga driving through some rocky desert landscape. Meet our camel caravan, and ride your camels through the amazing color-changing sand dunes with the sunset on the horizon as a backdrop.

We reach our Sahara desert camp before darkness. After some time to admire the sand dunes and the surrounding landscapes, get ready for a Moroccan dinner served under the stars next to the campfire. Late at night, local nomads hosts will be entertaining you with their drums and singing the local songs. Overnight in Berber camp including bed, dinner, and breakfast.

Day 4Merzouga Desert Tour

Today you will wake up early to enjoy the sunrise, then after having your breakfast, we will explore the desert using the 4*4 car. You will have the opportunity to see the nomad families living in tents and discover their way of life. We will visit the ‘black village’ of Khamlia to see the Gnawa musicians and to play with them their spiritual music. After that, we will drive 40 km to Rissani traditional town which was the origin of the ruling family in Morocco and the meeting place of the Caravans trading as far as Timbuktu in Mali. We will visit its traditional market. here will have the Berber Piza in lunch cooked in the traditional oven. After that return to the desert to enjoy again the sunset, and the unique beauty of the spectacular Merzouga sand dunes. Overnight in authentic Riad including, bed, dinner, and breakfast.

Day 5Merzouga – Midelt – Ifrane – Fes

Wake up early to see the spectacular sunrise, where the color of the dunes and the play of shadows are an awesome sight. Then after having your breakfast you may return either by camels or by 4*4 car to the edge of the sand dunes where you will meet your driver.

You will leave Sahara to Fes via Erfoud, and Ziz valley then stopping for a panoramic view of the oasis of Aoufous of Tafilalte region. We will cross the Tizi-n-Talghumt pass (1907m) to reach Midelt where we will have our lunch. Then we will drive and admiring one scene after another. The dramatic landscape change is amazing, from the apple city to the Middle Atlas Mountains, till we reach the largest cedar forest in Morocco to enjoy the view of the cedar woods and feed monkeys living there. Later on, we will have a stop in the European city Ifrane which looks different from all that we have seen during this trip. Then we continue to Fes. Drop you off in your provided hotel in Fes.

Inshallah sempre e comunque.

My Africa 🌍🇲🇦 Imagine a place where the sky does not overlook you, but crosses you, where you cannot breathe the air, but savor it, where time passes and does not run as we are used to. A place where people greet you, even if they don't know you, and where the nervous system settles down and doesn't get nervous. Where everything is true, even the less beautiful things, because here everything is life. This is what Morocco was for me. The organization was impeccable, Mubarak was available from the first telephone contact, he tried to support and satisfy our every need. We appreciated his kindness, friendliness, precision and attention so that everything was perfect and we were happy (the fresh water before each trip, the break with the oranges peeled by him) because his motto is 'If you're happy, I 'I'm happy too'. We had the opportunity to do a 5-day tour of the imperial cities from Marrakech, passing through Casablanca, Rabat, Meckness and Volubilis, finishing our tour in Fes. Mubarak relied on two guides who spoke Italian (Abdul and Yusef) who were super smart, friendly and helpful. They told us about the beauty, culture and history of this magnificent land. Having had a guide in Marrakech and Fes allowed us to skip several queues at the main monuments and to visit a ceramics cooperative in Fes. The feeling you get after this trip is what many call 'The sickness of Africa', it is that nostalgia that remains with you after visiting Africa and you feel nothing but the desire to return. Inshallah 🧿

A magical experience The Morocco experience turned out to be a real surprise! We trusted and relied on our driver Ally who pampered us and guided us around the Moroccan cities truly thinking of everything! Hotels and riads selected and chosen by them proved to live up to our expectations! The desert experience was nothing short of magical. Thanks to Ally we did not feel the weight and tiredness of the distances traveled during these 6 days in which we visited six different cities. We were able to experience this trip without thinking about anything other than having fun and enjoying the Moroccan beauties! The proposed tour is absolutely recommended, not very touristy and very fascinating!

Morocco in the heart Morocco will have a special place in our heart thanks to Lhoucine, our driver. We chose the 4-day tour proposed by Magic Sahara tours to discover the south of Morocco. We crossed the High Atlas, passing through Berber villages, the Dades Gorges, the Rose Valley and enjoyed beautiful landscapes and sunsets. The facilities that hosted us were above expectations, very beautiful and with attention to every detail. The Merzouga desert experience deserves a special mention. We were welcomed by Youssef and his friends as if we were at home, in a very intimate place, and we discovered a starry sky never seen before, sang and talked around the fire. The people who live in the desert and in the villages that surround it are fantastic and friendly people, who want to tell their stories and convey the best of their culture. There have certainly been tourist stops, in any case very beautiful, but the added value of staying with a local guide is that of being able to also enjoy authentic places, untouched by mass tourism (such as Rissani and its market) and being able to get to know the local people. What about our driver, Lhoucine is a nice, cheerful and professional person, attentive to our needs. We thank Magic Sahara tours and highly recommend it to discover Morocco. Yallah Yallah see you next trip!

Merzouga desert tour and Dades and Todra gorges A highly trained guide, attentive to our every need, engaging and friendly, who showed us tourist and non-touristy places, always giving us gems about the local culture, history and curiosities of the Amazigh people. We visited the Dades and Todra gorges, the Ait-Ben-Haddou kasbah, and then went to see the desert in Merzouga and also visited an oasis in the middle of the desert. “We are not barbarians, we are Berbers: Amazigh means free people”.
