Our first journey of Tour Fes to Marrakech Roadtrip, shall be after breakfast in your Riad/Hotel around 8 AM, we will start your day trip towards Chefchaouen “The Bleu City” which is a Morocco popular tourist attraction. It is as well a welcoming town situated in the Rif Mountains south of the Mediterranean coastline in The Northwest of Morocco, founded by Moulay Ali Ben Moussa.
If you are looking for a special experience, take this tour to Chefchaouen and wander through the narrow streets lined with blue houses, you will feel like walking in the sky.
Chefchaouen is bounded by forests, the most fantastic valleys, picturesque peaks, and gorges.
Upon arrival at the small city, learn about authentic local handicraft witch you cannot find in other cities, such as woven blankets, wool garments, and hats ornamented with glorious colored threads.
Marvel at the great monuments like Plaza Uta Elhammam which is lined with restaurants and coffee bars.
This is a peaceful place to enjoy and watch the world go by.
You can also see the kasbah, a greatly restored walled fortress, that now has a beautiful garden, and the Grande Mosque, built in the fifteenth century by the son of the city’s founder, Ali ben Rachid as well as other amazing monuments.

The departure from the Riad shall be after breakfast. The trip from Fes to Merzouga Sand Dunes will take around 8 hours in which we will see the Atlas Mountains and some villages (Timhdit, Zaida, and Er-rich). We will stop in some cities like Ifrane the European city and Azrou to enjoy the view of the cedar woods and monkeys living there. Lunch will be served in Midelt. Then we will keep going through the Ziz valley which has beautiful views of the palm trees. When we get to the edge of sand dunes where the camels are waiting for you to ride to the Berber camp where you spend the night.

Today you will wake up early to enjoy the sunrise, then after having your breakfast, we will explore the desert using the 4*4 car. You will have the opportunity to see the nomad families living in tents and discover their way of life. We will visit the ‘black village’ of Khamlia to see the Gnawa musicians and to play with them their spiritual music. After that, we will drive 40 km to Rissani traditional town which was the origin of the ruling family in Morocco and the meeting place of the Caravans trading as far as Timbuktu in Mali. We will visit its traditional market. here will have the Berber Piza in lunch cooked in a traditional oven. After that return to the desert to enjoy again the sunset, and the unique beauty of the spectacular Erg Chebbi sand dunes.

Wake up early to see the spectacular sunrise, where the color of the dunes and the play of shadows are an awesome sight. after having breakfast. We will leave for Ouarzazate. Stop in Erfoud, famous for its fossilized marbles, where you will visit the workshop production of marble fossils. Continue to the Todra Gorges which is an ideal place for walking and exploring on your own. Have lunch then drive through Dades valley and rose valley where our last stop will be for a break. We continue through the Road of a Thousand-Kasbahs passing the Skoura palm grove until we arrive at Ouarzazate known as “Hollywood of Morocco”.

Today our journey will start by shortstop providing to take some photographic shots of the Taourirt kasbah, then we will drive 30 minutes to reach one of the oldest Berber villages and World UNESCO heritage Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah where many international movies shotted ( Game of throne, Gladiator… ) then continue through Tizi n’tichka Pass (2260m) over the High Atlas Mountains with numerous stops for bird-views and also for having breaks till we reach the red-city Marrakech.

As anyone knows Marrakech is one of the oldest imperial cities founded around 1060-1106) by King Youssef Ibn Tachafine the empire of the Berber Dynasty Almoravides (, Located in the Hauz, an agricultural plain bounded to the south and east by the High Atlas mountains, and watered by the Tansift river, called the perle of the south, it has a stunning view over the snow-capped High Atlas Mountains surrounded by thousands of palms & agriculture fields.
Under the governance of the Almaravides dynasty (1055–1157), Marrakech became the base of the trade & conquest of Morocco, portions of the Maghrib, and Andalusia.
The empire has expanded in that time from Spain to Senegal, Marrakech was the crossroads of ancient caravan routes from Timbuktu made it a key destination for trade and reprieve for weary sub-Saharan traders carrying gold, salt, and slaves bound for Europe.

Photos of Ouzoud waterfalls are featured in almost every Moroccan tourist brochure. The waterfalls are in about 3 hours driving from Marrakech and are found in the middle Atlas Mountains.
Ouzoud waterfalls Located in a small village in the Middle Atlas, these waterfalls are considered the highest and most beautiful in the country. They have an approximate height of 110 meters and are born from the Ouzoud River. It is the most visited site in the region and is surrounded by green valleys, mills, orchards, and the Gorges of the Abid River. Ouzoud Falls are a major tourist attraction in Morocco. They are at their most spectacular in the spring following heavy rain. You need to be reasonably fit for this excursion as there are a lot of steps involved. Another attraction of the falls area is the endangered Barbary Apes which, although wild, have become well used to tourists.
Delve into one of the most exotic landscapes in Morocco. Wonderful riad in Marrakech, the exceptional desert camp. Great food especially with the tasting of Berber pizza in one of our stops where our Ali and Salah took us. JasonGar2024-06-18Amazing Desert Tour Our family of 4 had the pleasure of using Magic Sahara Tours for our desert tour this summer. As I'm now in my 50's, I like to travel in a little more comfort than I did in my college years, and Magic Sahara did not disappoint! I will also add that I compared several companies in the luxury category, and I felt their price was very competitive in relation to the accommodations and services offered. After initially reviewing their tour options online, I contacted Mohammed via the website. His response was prompt and he was very helpful customizing a trip for our needs. Our tour would go from Marrakech to Fes. So as not to be rushed, we opted for a 4N/5D. This gave us two nights in the desert, 1 at a luxury tent camp and 1 at a very nice resort. Our fantastic driver/guide Mubarak picked us up promptly at our hotel in Marrakech. The van was well maintained, comfortable and his driving was careful and courteous. Mubarak was very pleasant and thorough in answering our many questions about the area and its peoples. We really enjoyed our time with him. One of the many highlights of our trip was eating lunch at his families home where we met his lovely mother, a brother, sister in law and some nieces and nephews. The hospitality they showed us will not soon be forgotten! Rather than go on and on about our incredible trip, I will just say that if you are looking to do a desert tour (or probably ANY tour in Morocco because they do more than just the desert) I would recommend them wholeheartedly. A place where people greet you, even if they don't know you, and where the nervous system settles down and doesn't get nervous. Where everything is true, even the less beautiful things, because here everything is life. This is what Morocco was for me. The organization was impeccable, Mubarak was available from the first telephone contact, he tried to support and satisfy our every need. We appreciated his kindness, friendliness, precision and attention so that everything was perfect and we were happy (the fresh water before each trip, the break with the oranges peeled by him) because his motto is 'If you're happy, I 'I'm happy too'. We had the opportunity to do a 5-day tour of the imperial cities from Marrakech, passing through Casablanca, Rabat, Meckness and Volubilis, finishing our tour in Fes. Mubarak relied on two guides who spoke Italian (Abdul and Yusef) who were super smart, friendly and helpful. They told us about the beauty, culture and history of this magnificent land. Having had a guide in Marrakech and Fes allowed us to skip several queues at the main monuments and to visit a ceramics cooperative in Fes. We trusted and relied on our driver Ally who pampered us and guided us around the Moroccan cities truly thinking of everything! Hotels and riads selected and chosen by them proved to live up to our expectations! The desert experience was nothing short of magical. Thanks to Ally we did not feel the weight and tiredness of the distances traveled during these 6 days in which we visited six different cities. We were able to experience this trip without thinking about anything other than having fun and enjoying the Moroccan beauties! The proposed tour is absolutely recommended, not very touristy and very fascinating!

We chose the 4-day tour proposed by Magic Sahara tours to discover the south of Morocco. We crossed the High Atlas, passing through Berber villages, the Dades Gorges, the Rose Valley and enjoyed beautiful landscapes and sunsets. The facilities that hosted us were above expectations, very beautiful and with attention to every detail. The Merzouga desert experience deserves a special mention. We were welcomed by Youssef and his friends as if we were at home, in a very intimate place, and we discovered a starry sky never seen before, sang and talked around the fire. The people who live in the desert and in the villages that surround it are fantastic and friendly people, who want to tell their stories and convey the best of their culture. There have certainly been tourist stops, in any case very beautiful, but the added value of staying with a local guide is that of being able to also enjoy authentic places, untouched by mass tourism (such as Rissani and its market) and being able to get to know the local people. What about our driver, Lhoucine is a nice, cheerful and professional person, attentive to our needs. We thank Magic Sahara tours and highly recommend it to discover Morocco.
