This UNESCO World Heritage Site is one of the most important Roman sites in North Africa. Volubilis is a partly excavated Roman city in Morocco situated near Meknes. Built-in a fertile agricultural area, it was developed from the 3rd century BC onwards as a Phoenician/Carthaginian settlement. It grew rapidly under Roman rule from the 1st century AD onwards and expanded to cover about 40 hectares (100 acres) with a 2.6 km (1.6 mi) circuit of walls. The city gained a number of major public buildings in the 2nd century, including a basilica, temple, and triumphal arch. Its prosperity, which was derived principally from olive growing, prompted the construction of many fine town-houses with large mosaic floors. After, we go to the holy city of Moulay Idriss Zarhoun, perched dramatically against the slope of Mount Zerhon, and immerse ourselves in the dramatic landscape of Morocco. Break for lunch whenever you prefer and at the end of your tour, head back to your Riad or Hotel in Fez. End of a day trip from Fes to Volubilis, Moulay Driss Zarhoun, and Meknes.

Serena D2024-12-17Verified Unforgettable experience 🇲🇦 This was my first time in Morocco: super positive experience thanks to Mubarak's organization.During this 7-day tour I got to discover a different culture and way of life from the hectic one we are used to, rediscovering the tranquility and lightness of everyday life.Together with my friend, we saw a lot of places, starting from Marrakech up to the Merzouga desert. We visited Marrakech together with Abdou, an Italian-speaking guide, who helped us discover the city and its history.Along the way to the desert we made stops in between, visiting the historic Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou (where they shot numerous movies and TV series), Dades Valley and the Todra Gorges.Mubarak also took us to his hometown, Rissani, where we had the opportunity to fully immerse ourselves in Berber traditions: we attended a wedding celebration, had lunch with his family and visited the traditional market, where we tried many local products. The experience in the desert was unforgettable, I loved everything: crossing the golden dunes on the camel (or rather on the dromedary), watching the sunset and the starry night, spending the evening by the fire with the camp boys among Berber music and songs. It is the ideal place to rediscover yourself and find peace, without sacrificing a good dose of fun. Back from the desert we stopped in Ourzazate and visited the studios: as a movie lover I loved being able to see how things happen "behind the scenes". Finally, our tour ended in Essauira, a small seaside resort on the coast, where we could breathe the fresh air of the Atlantic Ocean.Throughout the week, Mubarak was very kind and helpful, always ready to answer my curiosity about the local culture during the long drives. Highly recommended experience, if you want to take an authentic journey to discover Morocco, choose Magic Sahara Tours 🐪🇲🇦
